End of the Season: Eagles Have Much to Celeberate
While the Flagstaff High School baseball team didn’t quite get the fairy tale ending that they were hoping for after losing to Cactus Shadows High School in extra innings on May 2, 2026, that does not mean that there is nothing to celebrate about. Once again, the Eagles were able to win their region after staving off a late surging Prescott High School. They won their play-in game against Deer Valley by a score of 4-1 to get them into the AIA State Champion Bracket. More importantly; however, are the numerous personal achievement the players were able to attain at the end of their season.
Cullen Callander, Jace Adams, and Will Carpenter achieved First Team status for the Grand Canyon Region because of their impressive 2026 campaign. In addition to these achievements, Cullen Callander was also awarded Defensive Player of the Region and Will Carpenter was awarded overall Region Player of the Year. Teyan Clerry and Trey Parker were additionally awarded Second Team honors for the region. One year removed from a state championship appearance, manager Kenny Macias won Region Coach of the Year as he once again led the team to a very successful season.
While we are graduating many very talented Seniors such as Carpenter and Callander, it appears that the future of Flagstaff High School baseball remains bright with stars such a Teyan Clerry, an upcoming Junior, Trey Parker, and Jace Adams, the team leader in many important categories such as ERA, RBIs, and strikeouts.
