The Flagstaff High School Swim season has had a strong start to their 2026 season with several Arizona State Qualifiers, and many record-breaking performances. The Eagles began their season with their first meet at Flagstaff High School on September 3rd, and as of this article, is just wrapping up another home meet on Thursday, October 1st against Northland Prep, Payson, and St. John Paul II. In between, they have participated in several other dual meets while also competing in the Fast Times in the Cool Pines Invitational, as well as the Eagle Invite, both approved qualifiers that are needed for getting swimmers into the state competition.
One of the early highlights of the year was when the girls' team set a new school record for the 200 Medley Relay. Together, freshmen Kendall Gross and Jordyn Lininger with seniors Victoria Core and Sophia Terriquez were able to shave some time off with the new record falling at 1:54.57. It doesn’t end there, however. The girls were able to set another relay record with Kendall, Jordyn, and Victoria once again setting the mark with Junior Taylor Lininger in the 200 Free Relay with a new time of 1:43.61. In addition to this team effort, two more individual records were set with Kendall also claiming the school record for the 200 IM at 2:11.86, as well as the 100 Back with a time of 58.09.
The boys' swim team is young, but constantly getting better throughout the season. Nick Tramutolo is leading the way with 7 of the 8 fastest times for the Eagles in events.
The Eagles will begin winding down their regular season with two more dual meets, one at Mingus Union High School against Mingus and Coronado High School and their last home meet against Sedona. The also have one last state qualifier of the season, Saturday Night Fever, at Chandler High School.
